Start seeds 4-5 weeks before last frost.
Sow 1/4” deep and keep soil moist until seedling emerges. Transplant into larger container as seedling gets larger. Plant outside once all chance of frost has passed. Space plants 9-12” apart.
Germinates in 3-10 days at 65-70°F (18-21°C). Please note that germination rates may vary, and dahlia seeds are known to have spotty germination. We offer no guarantees on germination rate or seedling characteristics. Dahlias grown from seeds will look different from the parents - it is not the same as growing from tubers, but exciting to see potentially all new varieties emerge from seeds!!
